Two Northern Flickers visited the tree in my front yard one snowy morning. Even though their visit was brief, it stayed with me long after they had flown away.
This painting was born from the feeling they left behind. For a moment, it felt as though we belonged to one another and the boundaries between my life and theirs seemed to dissolve.
