I imagined this painting as a meeting between two versions of the same soul: the woman she once was and the Catrina she has become.
To me, it is death looking back on life with perfect clarity—remembering every joy, every mistake, and every unanswered question. From this new perspective, she understands what she could never have known while she was alive.
There is no judgment in her gaze, only compassion. She has finally made peace with the life she lived, and in doing so, with herself.
